CZECH BUD REACHES THE US

The Star Tribune reports that Czech Budweiser is coming to St Louis, home of American Budweiser. However, the Czech firm will not be using BUDWEISER as a trade mark in the US. Instead, the beer will be sold under the name B.B. Burgerbrau (Burgerbrau means beer of the city’s residents). The containers will inform customers though that the product is "Budejovicke Pivo” (i.e. Budweis beer) and point of sale information will include that the beer is made in "Czech Budweis City''.

The IPKat thinks that the Czech company has made a wise decision in choosing not to use the Budweiser sign in the US.
